Maccabi Ashdod announced today (Sunday) the signing of a new-old player in Israeli women’s basketball: Abandonment Heidemanwho played for Maccabi RG in the 21/20 season, joined Ashdod, and will be part of the team’s squad in the league games, until she completes her naturalization process.
The 25-year-old American is half-Jewish, who played last year for the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA, and even reached the 2022 finals with the team. Heideman comes from a real basketball family, and some basketball fans who are trying to decipher why Heideman looks quite familiar, will not be surprised to hear that she is a half-sister of Bnei Herzliya actress, Sandy Cohen.
Heideman (1.73 m) finished the last season in Connecticut with a statistical line of 9.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, when earlier in her career she was the 18th pick in the 2019 draft. Uri Ben Simonthe CEO of the club, said: “We are sticking to the plan we formulated at the beginning of the season, we knew that after the national team break we would join another significant foreign team that would help us reach the goals we set each year.”
