Gard: a man seriously injured during a hunting trip

by time news

A hunting party almost turned tragic again, in the Gard this Sunday, reports the local press. The firefighters intervened in the town of Sauve, about forty kilometers northwest of Nîmes. A 56-year-old man presented “a major wound in the skull”, reports Midi Libre.

It was an accident between two hunters that caused the injury, “caused by an unfortunate shot”. A warhead would have ricocheted and struck the temple of the victim. “The injury would a priori be due to a ricochet, either directly from the bullet, or from a piece of rock or stone impacted by the bullet”, confirmed the Sdis du Gard to our colleagues from France 3 Occitanie, who specify that an ambulance, a command vehicle and a nurse firefighter were immediately deployed on the spot.

The man was helicoptered to the Nîmes hospital center in stride. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the national gendarmerie, which was on the scene Sunday afternoon to establish the circumstances of the tragedy. According to Midi Libre, the days of the victim would not be in danger.
