Tehran,

According to a report, the Iranian government has executed more than 500 people this year (2022).

Last September, Masha Amini (22) was arrested by Iran’s moral police for not wearing hijab properly in Iran. Morality police beat up Masha Amini for not wearing hijab properly.

Women across Iran protested the death of Masha, who was allegedly attacked by police for not wearing the hijab properly. Women are protesting by taking off their hijab and burning it on fire. The protest is spreading to many cities of the country.

The Iranian government is taking strict measures to suppress the anti-hijab protestors. The Iranian security forces are engaged in firing, baton, tear gas and arresting the protestors.

Meanwhile, at least 504 people have been executed in Iran so far this year, according to the Norway-based Iran Human Rights Group. The Iranian government executed 4 of them for spying for Israel.

This is said to be the highest number in the last 5 years. Earlier in 2021, at least 333 people were executed.

In this case, these people were sentenced to death without a fair trial, said Mahmoud Amiri-Moghadam, director of the Human Rights Group.

Mahmoud Amiri-Mokhattam said the executions were intended to create fear in society and divert public attention from the government’s intelligence failures.
