Legislative session; Opposition decision on urgent resolution in Vizhinjam strike today

by time news

Thiruvananthapuram | Today, the second day of the Legislative Assembly session, the opposition will issue a notice for an urgent resolution on the Vizhinjam strike. The opposition’s move is part of a move to put pressure on the government in the absence of consensus talks the previous day. A bill to remove the governor from the post of chancellor will be introduced in the House tomorrow. After leaving it to the subject committee, they are trying to pass the bill this week itself.

Rushed efforts were made to reach a consensus in Vizhinjam. But as the proposals that came up in the reconciliation talks were still unclear, the strike committee-government discussion did not take place. The government has not given in to the demand to put a representative suggested by the strike committee in the expert committee to study coastal erosion. But the move was to pay the increased amount from Adani Group’s CSR fund. This was opposed by the strike committee. Another suggestion is to form a monitoring committee to assess whether the assurances given by the government are being followed. There will be representatives of the government and the strike committee. The strike committee is giving an indication that it is ready to back down from the demand to stop the construction of the port if other demands are accepted.
