The police chief who was present in the area then admitted that one of his policemen opened fire at the offending driver, who at first managed to escape but was eventually apprehended by police forces.
The incident took place at 01:30 Israel time, during a parade in honor of the Christmas celebrations, a jeep burst the checkpoints to the surprise of passers-by and hit the participants of the procession hard.
