The opportunity for the Head of State, once again, to make himself the advocate of his method, a few kilometers from the city of Marseille, where the “Marseille en grand” project serves as a laboratory for “the school of the future”, in the words of Emmanuel Macron. Sixty-three schools out of 472 are now part of the experiment and are developing so-called innovative school projects, from the mathematics laboratory to the “flexible class”. The new appointments of teachers in these schools are submitted to a commission which selects the candidates according to their motivation for the project.
A model whose effects could not be assessed but which the Head of State is generalizing, inviting all establishments to engage in consultation to build projects that can be financed by the educational innovation fund – 500 million d euros over five years. The Ministry of National Education also unveiled Monday to the unions a draft decree providing for the creation of a bonus for teachers participating in a project financed by this fund, provoking the anger of the trade unions.
