Hindu People’s Party leader Arjun Sampath has filed a letter of assurance in the Madras High Court that he will not wear a saffron shirt and will not apply vibhuti kumkum to his statue at the Ambedkar Mani Mandapam.
A petition was filed on behalf of Arjun Sampath seeking an order to the Pattinambakkam Police Department to provide security to the legal genius Dr. Ambedkar when he goes to pay homage at his Mani Mandapam in Annamalaipuram, Chennai on the occasion of his memorial day.

When this petition came up for hearing today, a guarantee letter was filed on behalf of Arjun Sampath as per the order of the High Court. In it, he has assured that he will not raise slogans against any individual and will not cause disruption to traffic or public.
Also, the letter of assurance mentioned that Ambedkar’s statue will not be dressed in saffron, put a saffron piece or put vibhuti and kumkum on it.
Arjun Sampath has also stated in the letter of assurance that he will not give an interview to the media after paying homage at Ambedkar’s Mani Mandapam. Accepting this, the judge closed the case by ordering the Pattinambakkam police department to provide necessary police security for Arjun Sampad tributes at Ambedkar Mani Mandapam.
