Legal genius Annal Ambedkar’s memorial day is being observed across the country today. In view of this, various organizations are paying respect to his idol and picture by garlanding them.

In this case, Hindu People’s Party State Secretary T. Gurumurthy has put up posters all over Kumbakonam wearing saffron clothes, applying vibhuti and putting kumkum in the image of Ambedkar.

After a party from a community informed the police that they would take part in a protest if the posters were not removed immediately, the police in alternate clothes started removing the posters.

Following this, the Hindu People’s Party State Secretary Guru Murthy was arrested by the police for putting up a poster to prevent incidents in Kumbakonam.

Subsequently, Arjun Sampath has assured in the Chennai High Court that he will not wear a saffron shirt, vibhuti or kumkum poosa to Ambedkar’s statue. In this regard, Hindu People’s Party leader Arjun Sampath has filed a letter of guarantee in the Chennai High Court.

In this situation, the Liberation Tigers of India raised slogans against Hindu People’s Party leader Arjun Sampath, who came to pay respects at Chennai Ambedkar Mani Mandapam on the occasion of the memorial day. There was a push between the two sides.

The police who were on security duty at that time arrested the Liberation Tigers party. This caused a commotion in the Ambedkar Mani Mandapam.
