Lt. Col. Azriel Amor, commander of the Shimshon Battalion (92) who led the pursuit of the terrorist from today’s shooting attack in Ofra, told this evening (Wednesday) about the events that led to the terrorist’s assassination.
“In the afternoon, there was a shooting incident at soldiers at the Ofra outpost. The soldiers responded by shooting, and the terrorist started to run away. The forces in the battalion set up blockades and began the chase” he described the sequence of events. “Kach identified the terrorist’s vehicle, rowed into contact, narrowed the range and neutralized the terrorist. I am proud of the soldiers of the 92nd Battalion for carrying out the mission and rowing into contact. We will continue to work to protect the sector and all the residents who pass through it.”
Lieutenant R., the deputy commander of the company that neutralized the terrorist together with his soldiers, added and said: “Following a deep familiarity with the formation, sharpness and agility of my soldiers, we identified the suspect vehicle and started chasing him. We got out of the vehicle in the direction of the terrorist, while he was shooting in our direction, we rowed came under fire and we managed to neutralize it. We feel a great pride and privilege to provide protection to the residents of the sector and fulfill our mission.”
