A holiday has been declared for schools only in Tiruvarur district tomorrow as a heavy rain warning has been issued due to the low pressure zone that has formed over the Bay of Bengal.
A deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestward and strengthened into a depression over Southeast Bay last evening.

This morning it has strengthened further as a deep depression over the southeast and adjacent southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move further west-northwestwards and prevail over North-South-Pudhwa and adjoining South Andhra coast on 08th and 09th.
In this case, a holiday has been declared for schools only tomorrow (December 8) in Tiruvarur district due to heavy rain warning. The district administration has issued a notification for this.
Cyclone Mandus will make landfall in the evening of December 9 to early morning of 10th.
