An anti-Semitic man was accused in court of making anti-Semitic and racist threats against parents, children and security personnel at the Jewish kindergartens near the synagogue in Michigan, USA. The judge ordered that he be released on bail only if he deposits a million dollars

Hassan Yahya Choker, who was arrested for threatening Jewish families outside the Jewish institutions of a synagogue in Michigan, stunned the state court when he insulted the Jewish judge who dealt with his case and paid a heavy price for it.

Choker was accused in court of making anti-Semitic and racist threats towards parents, children and security personnel at the kindergartens adjacent to the synagogue in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He appeared from his detention cell and confronted the Jewish judge who heard his case. The judge asked to write the words down in the protocol, and then the accused began to shout: “That’s what I said and I don’t regret it, God will judge you the way you judge me. Remember that.”

His lawyer asked him to stop and said that he was harming himself and Choker replied: “I don’t care.” He screamed: “Your system is going to collapse. You are taking away my freedom of speech, my freedoms – at the end of the day, your freedoms will be taken away from you. I just exercised my freedom of speech.”

The judge was not overly moved by his words and ordered to allow his release on bail only if he deposits a huge sum of one million dollars. Choker was released immediately following his arrest last Friday, after Bloomfield Hills Police Chief James Gallagher stated that the evidence obtained against him was insufficient to keep him in custody.

But the man was not content with threats and announced that he was trying to buy a gun to use to shoot Jews. Undercover investigators followed him and feared that he would carry out his threat and then he was arrested. This is a man known to the local police who was soon to be tried for attacking a police officer about a year and a half ago in the city of Detroit.
