An electric bicycle rider, about 60, was killed by a bus in Mezekrat Batia

Carnage on the way: An electric bicycle rider, about 60 years old, whose identity is not yet known, was killed today (Friday) by a bus on Sderot Menachem Begin in Mizerat Batia. MDA medics and paramedics pronounced him dead on the spot.

The traffic examiners of the Shepela region of the police arrived at the scene and started investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident and collecting findings, and detained the bus driver for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the accident.

MDA emergency medic Israel Azoulai said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw an electric bicycle rider trapped under the bus, unconscious with multiple systemic injuries. He was without a pulse and without breathing, we tried to give him medical treatment while rescuing him. After he was rescued, we had to determine his death.”

This is the second fatal accident within a few hours, as tonight two men in their 40s were killed by a car on Route 60, in a tunnel heading south near Mount Gila in Jerusalem. MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced the two dead on the spot. The traffic accident examiners of the Israel Police began investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident, and began collecting evidence and findings.

MDA motorcycle medic Mohammad Aliyan and MDA paramedic Avraham Tsenvirt said: “When we arrived at the scene, we noticed a vehicle on the side of the road with very severe metal injuries in the front part and at a distance of about 30 meters, 2 men about 40 years old were lying. They suffered very severe multi-system damage , they were unconscious, without breathing and without a pulse, and after medical examinations we had no choice but to determine their death.”
