Final approval of law protecting same-sex marriage

by time news

Washington: The US Congress has given final approval to a law protecting same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage became legal in the United States in 2015. Previously, same-sex marriages were legal in only 36 provinces.

A bill to protect same-sex marriage passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 258 to 169, with the support of 39 Republican MPs. It passed the Senate last week by a 61-36 vote.

In this case, following the final approval of this bill passed by both Houses of the United States of America, it has been sent for the signature of US President Biden. If he signs it, it becomes law.
