Kuwait City: (www.kvartha.com) Kuwait will have a five-day holiday from February 23 to 27 next year, local media reported. Holiday will be from Thursday to Monday.
This number of days leave is inclusive of weekend leave on Independence Day, Liberation Day and Isra’-Miraj anniversary. The official working day will resume on Tuesday, February 28 after the holidays.
Actually February 18th is the anniversary and holiday of Isra’-Mi’raj. But every year the Isra’-Mi’raj holiday, if it falls between two working days, the Cabinet’s directive to move it to the next Thursday is in force in Kuwait. Because of this, the Isra’-Mi’raj holiday will be on Thursday, February 23 instead of Saturday, February 18.
Meanwhile, Kuwait will have a three-day holiday for New Year. The holiday will be on December 30, 31 and January 1. After the holiday, working days will resume on February 2.
