The great match between England and France saw an equalizer today (Saturday) by Harry Kane, with a perfect penalty for France connections and his Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris. Kane kicked a great shot after Bokayo Saka was fouled in the box.
In doing so, Kane equaled Wayne Rooney at the top of England’s goal scoring charts with 53 goals each. Kane did it in 80 appearances, while Rooney did it in 120 games. Lloris, by the way, became the record player for the French national team with 143 appearances.
England’s record goalscorer at the World Cup is Gary Lineker with ten goals, while 29-year-old Kane (2018 World Cup goalscorer) has eight goals, four of them from penalties – more than anyone else in World Cup history, not including penalty fights. This is his second goal in the 2022 World Cup. The English team, by the way, broke its record from 2018 and scored 13 goals in the World Cup.
