“Olivier tirelessly worked his shot against a wall”: welcome to Froges, Giroud’s stronghold

by time news

In the locker room where the kids of the Froges football club (Isère) prepare for training, the poster of a player from the France team sits majestically on one of the walls: that of the son of the country, Olivier Giroud, who walked the same lawn when he started out, and for seven years. A faded red jersey adorned with the number 9, straight out of the 1990s, completes the small altar to the glory of the international. “He already had that number, but the shirt has to be a size 8. Olivier could no longer wear it today,” smiles Abdelmalek Khennine, current president of the Football Organization Club de Froges.
