A wild boar attacked a 79-year-old woman this morning in the urban area of the Cantabrian town of sands of igua. As a consequence of the animal’s attack, the woman was injured and she was taken by ambulance to the Sierrallana Hospital in Torrelavega, although she has not disclosed her prognosis.
According to information from the 112 Emergency Assistance Center and the Government of Cantabria, the wild boar attack occurred around 1:00 p.m. on San Cristóbal de Arenas de Igua street, in the vicinity of the local church.
The 112 has mobilized the health emergency service of 061 upon learning of the attack, as well as the Civil Guard and members of the Directorate of Biodiversity of the Government of Cantabria. In the case of seeing wild animals in urban areas, 112 warns of the need to get away from them and notify this service.
