Multan: Pakistan-England 2nd Test to exciting end. Pakistan need 157 runs with two days and six wickets remaining on a spin-friendly pitch at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Pakistan were at 198 for four when they were stumped on the third day. Saud Shakeel (54) and Faheem Ashraf (3) are at the crease. Earlier, England’s second innings ended on 281.
Batting with a target of 355 runs, Pakistan lost the wickets of Abdullah Shafiq (43), Mohammad Rizwan (30), Babar Azam (1) and Imam ul Haq (60) on the third day. Ollie Robinson, Jack Leach, Mark Wood and James Anderson took one wicket each. At one stage, the hosts scored 66 runs without losing a wicket and then collapsed to 83 for three. Later, Imam-Saud added 108 runs to save Pakistan from collapse.
England’s second innings ended on 275. Harry Brook who scored 108 runs led the team to a respectable score. Ben Duckett (79) provided support. Ben Stokes scored 41 runs. Joe Root (21) is another player who saw double figures. Zach Crowley (3), Will Jacks (4), Ollie Pope (4), Robinson (3), Mark Wood (6) and Anderson (4) were the other players dismissed. Abrar Ahmed took four wickets. With this, the debutant took 11 wickets in Tests. Sahid Mahmood has three wickets.
Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 202 against England’s first innings score of 281. Babar (75) and Saud (63) shone in the Pakistan line-up. Leach took four wickets. Wood and Root have two wickets each. Pakistan conceded a first innings lead of 79 runs. After winning the toss and electing to bat, England scored 281 runs. Duckett (63) and Pope (60) shone. Abrar took seven wickets.
