Former President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that his country has intensified the production of new generation weapons.
He said that this action was taken with the aim of defending against enemy countries including Europe, America and Australia.
Dmitry Medvedev’s announcement came against the backdrop of US warnings that the security partnership between Russia and Iran would become a full-scale one.
Production of weapons of mass destruction
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said that Russia has accelerated the production of more powerful and destructive weapons.
He said through the Religram app that these weapons are being manufactured under new policies.
Dmitry Medvedev, who serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Defense Council, did not release any detailed information about the weapons.
President Vladimir Putin has already said Russia is developing new types of weapons, including hypersonic weapons capable of defeating all existing missile defense systems.
Ukraine war
However, British intelligence said Russia was under pressure to fund the war in Ukraine.
Russia has earmarked more than 30 percent of its 2023 budget for defense, security and law enforcement, the British Ministry of Defense said.
Due to this, the British Ministry of Defense has said that the pressure on other sectors will increase, and Russia has carried out attacks on the positions of Ukraine today.
Meanwhile, in the port city of Odesa, two power structures were damaged in Russian drone strikes.
As a result, 15 million people in Odesa and its surrounding suburbs are without electricity, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Shelensky said.
