To be a free people: the Declaration of Independence measuring 360 square meters was hung along the Tel Aviv City Hall

The municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa this morning hung a sign of the full version of the Declaration of Independence, and this “in light of the mood in recent times in the country”, according to senior officials of the municipality. Later today, the Tel Aviv Municipality will install a sign at the entrance to the building, with a quote from the scroll – “The State of Israel will maintain complete social and political equality of rights for all its citizens, regardless of religion, race or gender.”

The sign, 36 meters long and 10 meters wide, was hung on the eastern front towards Ibn Gvirol Street, almost the entire length of the city hall.

Mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa Ron Huldai: “The declaration of the establishment of the State of Israel took place at the Tel Aviv Museum, the former home of the first mayor Meir Dizengoff. The Declaration of Independence established the foundations of freedom, justice and peace. This morning we hung the Declaration of Independence on the wall of the city hall. Now , more than ever it is necessary to remember its values.”
