“Shouldn’t you be ashamed if you say that there is a regime in Puduvai in such a way that a governor can be attached to it? This is a big drag for the state,” Stalin said at the Puducherry DMK council president’s wedding ceremony.
Puducherry former minister and state DMK president SP Sivakumar’s house wedding ceremony was held at a private wedding hall in Pattanur area of Villupuram district on Monday.
Chief Minister Stalin and his wife Durga Stalin presided over the wedding ceremony.
The marriage ceremony was held in the presence of Puducherry State Assembly Leader of Opposition Siva, and DMK members including Tamil Nadu Ministers KN Nehru, Senji Masthan, Panneerselvam, Ponmudi, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu Assembly member participated in the wedding ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin said Puducherry’s ruling N.R. He strongly criticized the Congress rule.
Talking about this, he said, “There was a big change in the Legislative Assembly elections held last year in Tamil Nadu. The Udayasuriyan regime flourished there. We proudly call this flourishing regime a Dravidian model regime. Such a Dravidian model regime should also be established in Puduva.
A reign is now taking place in the same Puduvai. It is a government elected by the people. It is not denied that it is not. But is it happening for the people?
A chief minister is acting like a puppet. I don’t want to complain about him. He is good. But does ‘good’ have to be good or not? He is not like that.
Shouldn’t you be ashamed to say that there is a regime in Puduvai in such a way that a governor can be obsessed? Shouldn’t you be surprised to see that?
The fact that such a regime is taking place here is a huge draw for this new state. Has this done any good? “No,” said Stalin.
“It is in this situation that a new government should be established in Puduvai. Our association administrators have expressed their opinion that it should be our government.
Puducherry has already been ruled by DMK under the leadership of Farooq, Ramachandran and Janakiraman. Surely a DMK-led regime will re-emerge in Puduvai. No doubt about it. A decision on the alliance will be taken at election time,” Stalin said.
Tamil reaction
In this situation, BBC Tamil sought the opinion of Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan regarding Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s talk about Puducherry Chief Minister Rangasamy and the Governor.
At that time, Tamilisai said, “The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has spoken as if nothing good is happening in Puduvai and that only good things are happening in Tamil Nadu and it is the power of the Governor. There is no truth in this. We are working together with the Chief Minister and the Governor.”
“The same dangerous warning was given to Tamil Nadu during Mendoza storm. The same dangerous warning was given to Puduvai. In Puduvai, all precautionary measures were taken accordingly. We cut down weak trees and branches, arranged more than 160 camps, made all arrangements including food, war room. But we did not self-promote.
Even if ‘one’ is affected by the storm, it is still affected. They say we have done it right. But many houses were damaged. So many people have suffered. The same warning was in the new one. The administrative system is the same as in Tamil Nadu. But better than that we managed the innovation.
It was the Chief Minister who conducted the disaster consultation. He visited all the places. I contacted him on cell phone and asked him for details only. I have no direct involvement in anything. That is, it is my opinion that it is not right to talk unnecessarily.
Moreover, the governor exercises power without knowing the full details. “It is not right to say that the Chief Minister is lying down,” said Tamilisai.
Advertising by storm
“When Puducherry handled the same storm very well, we did not act like they wrote poems and put up advertisements.
Without contributing to individual human vulnerability. There is no point in praising yourself for doing well.
Tamil Nadu also acted in the same way in all situations including covid and storm. A better budget has been presented here,” said the Lt. Governor.
“Say the Dravidian Model in Tamil”
“They say Dravidian model. I told you to give a name to Tamil in which regions Dravidian belongs to. I mean say Dravidian model in Tamil. Dravidian is not Tamil and model is not Tamil.
‘Comrade Chief Minister is not right to speak like this’
“There is nothing like what the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is saying. There is very good governance going on in Puducherry. Many projects are underway. He has said that he should come and speak at the wedding ceremony.
Sadi has also spoken of the Governor’s rule and insulting the Chief Minister, which is wrong. Puducherry Chief Minister is performing well in all the tasks. You should not underestimate the work of another Chief Minister.
While the governor is said to exercise authority, the deputy governor has additional responsibility in the governorship constitutional system of leadership. I don’t mean this as authority, just added responsibility.
It is wrong for a fellow chief minister to criticize the chief minister of a neighboring state. Why did Stalin talk like that? It is a baseless allegation to talk like this out of nothing,” he said.
Who will lead your alliance?
“Former Chief Minister Narayanasamy of the Congress party in the alliance. We will lead the alliance. DMK is saying that it has no part in it. Let DMK answer that first. Narayanasamy said that even the demonstration held a few days ago was led by Congress. So first let DMK lead the alliance. Then Puducherry. Let’s talk about governance,” said Tamilisai Soundararajan.
