Mosquito season is officially over. Between May and October of this year, Sciensano and the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) found the Asian tiger mosquito at twelve locations in our country. The research centers speak of “unexpectedly numerous finds”, including a large concentration in Lebbeke and Wilrijk. “We expect that the tiger mosquito will survive the winter there,” says Isra Deblauw of ITM.
