Pineapples, which are cheap and full of nutrients in Namur, cost thousands of pounds in England as a special variety. One lakh rupees in Namur value. Don’t think you can become a multi-millionaire in a year by going to England and planting a pineapple plantation. Pineapple cultivation in the village is also costly and complicated.

Pineapple contains nutrients including vitamin C, antioxidants, manganese and potassium. It is the best fruit to boost immunity. Since pineapple fruit is hot, eating it in winter brings many benefits to the body. But if you go to England and ask the price of a Heligan pineapple it will take a toll on your wallet. A Heligan pineapple grown in England’s Conwall plantation costs one lakh rupees. The Helican pineapple is the world’s most expensive pineapple variety.

Why so expensive?

The Heligan pineapple was first brought to England in 1819. But the climate of the country is not suitable for pineapple cultivation. So the horticulturists followed a strategy by designing wooden panels in the hollow, which contained compost for the pineapple plant and provided heat with a backup heater. The heater heats the air and passes it through holes in the wood panel into the cavity. The pineapple plant grows vigorously.

Pineapple cultivation here is very difficult and costly as many hours and labor are required for nutrition, transport, maintenance of pineapple pits, care of fruits etc. As the cost is high, each pineapple is sold for one lakh. And if these are auctioned to the public, the price of a pineapple goes up to 10 lakh rupees.

Queen Elizabeth II received a second pineapple grown in a Victorian greenhouse as a gift, according to the Heligan website.
