Delhi: Former Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan attended Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Raghuram joined Rajan when the foot march reached Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. The footage of Raghuram Rajan and Rahul Gandhi discussing during the trip went viral on social media. Activist Medha Patkar, self-proclaimed godman Namdev Das Tyagi (Computer Baba), actress Swara Bhaskar and boxer Vijender Singh have attended Rahul Gandhi’s yatra in recent days.
At the same time, BJP came out against Raghuram Rajan’s participation in Bharat Jodo Yatra. BJP IT cell chief Amit Malaviya said that it is not surprising that Raghuram Rajan participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Raghuram Rajan is a man who considers himself to be the next Manmohan Singh. Malviya accused Raghuram Rajan of dismissing his commentary on the Indian wealth scene and calling his position opportunistic.
