Thiruvannamalai: The police are investigating the case of a farmer who killed his wife, 3 daughters and a son due to a family dispute near Tiruvannamalai and then committed suicide by hanging himself.
Farmer Palani (45) lived in Mottur village next to Oranthavadi in Pudupalayam Panchayat Union of Tiruvannamalai District. His wife is Valli (37). They have 5 daughters and one son. Eldest daughter Soundarya is married and lives in Krishnagiri district. They leased land in Mottur village and farmed it, living in a house on the land with 4 daughters and a son.
In this case, no one came out of the house yesterday morning. Also, it is said that he was planning to go to the temple. Suspicious relatives and residents of the neighborhood visited Palani’s house.
At that time, Palani’s wife Valli (37), daughters Trisha (15), Monisha (14), Taniyashree (4) and son Sivashakti (6) were all hacked to death. Moreover, Palani was also found dead in a hanging position. Another daughter Bhumika (9) was fighting for her life.
The Thiruvannamalai Rural Police who went to the information rescued the girl and sent her to the Government Medical College Hospital. The girl was taken to Vellore Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Later, they seized the bodies of the 6 people and sent them to the Medical College Hospital.
According to the villagers, “Palani was addicted to alcohol and cannabis. As a result, 5 people may have been murdered. You cannot kill 5 people at once. When one was killed, there was a chance that others would have escaped. But seeing that all the 5 people have been brutally murdered, there is a suspicion that something might have been mixed in the food,” they said.
Meanwhile, forensic experts were called in and clues were collected. Police suspect that the murder may have taken place in the middle of the night as blood was found inside the house.
