The film “Playground” directed by Nurit Kidar, produced for Kaan 11 and broadcast about a year ago, won the first prize in the “Mediterranean memory” category at the PriMed festival.

The festival takes place every year in Marseille, France and awards the international prize to films documenting events whose stories took place in the Mediterranean basin.

As you may remember, the film unfolds an extraordinary affair which is revealed in it, and which took place on the fourth day of the Lebanon War in 1982. A reserve company of the paratroopers was given the task of guarding more than a thousand Lebanese prisoners of war in a school yard in Sidon for one day.

The mission got complicated and turned deadly, without the soldiers being aware of it, until the moment they realized that the violence they used had a heavy price. The soldiers who participated in the guarding mission, the doctors who witnessed the acts, and the detainees who endured torture have never been exposed… until now.
