Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed his favorite movie of 2022. Lokesh talked about his favorite film while speaking at a round table chat organized by Film Companion. Kamal Haasan, SS Rajamouli, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Lokesh Kanakaraj, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Swapna Dutt participated in the chat.
The round table discussed many topics such as films released this year, the future of Indian cinema. The guests also answered Avataraka’s question about which of the films released in 2022 they liked the most.
In that, Lokesh, who is known as a mass director, said that his favorite was ‘Thallumala’, one of the Malayalam films released this year. ‘I watched the Malayalam movie Thallumala 3-4 times. When I saw each shot, I felt that I could have directed it’ – said Lokesh. While Rajamouli said ‘Janaganamana’ and ‘Vikra’ as his favorite films, Gautham Menon said ‘Thiru Chitrambala’. Kamal Haasan, Prithviraj and Swapna Dutt chose ‘Kanthara’.
Tovino Thomas and Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer ‘Tallumala’ directed by Khalid Rahman. Shine Tom Chacko, Lukman, Chemban Vinod Jose, Johnny Anthony, Austin and Asim Jamal are the other actors in the film. Produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions, the film was released on August 12.
Lokesh Kanakaraj is the director of Tamil mass films. The last film directed by Lakesh was ‘Vikra’ starring Kamal Haasan. Apart from Kamal Haasan, the film which was a huge hit at the box office, also featured Fahadh Faasil, Naren, Vijay Sethupathi, Suriya and Kalidas in lead roles.
