In the first section of the gameplay, the player is a student at Hogwarts Witchcraft School [62 articles]href=”https://www.gematsu.com/companies/witchcraft” rel=”noopener”>Late 19th century witchcraft and sorcery, spiraling broomsticks flying low over the open world. The player soars over the Scottish Highlands, landing Exploring a small village offers the chance to meet different witches and wizards while also participating in research opportunities.The player then installs an Onyx Hippogriff (a pre-order exclusive Hippogriff) to traverse the landscape as it changes to winter and covers the land with snow.
In a deeper dive into combat, the player, donning the Dark Arts cosmetic set, walks through the Forbidden Forest before riding the Thestral to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. The Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, Thestral Mount and Dark Arts Battle Arena are exclusively available at Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition or for in-game purchase in the Dark Arts Pack. The player immediately casts the Avada Kedavra spell to show that the enemy’s health bar instantly goes to zero. Tools such as potions and plants from the Room of Requirement can be brought along with the player in combat to help defeat enemies more efficiently.
In the final video, the player visits the Room of Requirement. The entire space can be customized and the structure can be changed as the player conjures up the objects in the space. Visualizations can be found in Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade or are rewarded for completing various activities throughout the game. Utility items such as growing pots and fermentation stations can also be customized. Over the course of the gameplay, the player will be able to conjure a Loom that can be used to customize and add magical properties to his equipment. Finally, the player walks to the Vivarium where the monsters are being nursed. Gravorn, Niffler, Kenzel, and Moon Calf are revealed. By petting and feeding the beast, they will give the player the magic ingredients needed to customize and upgrade their equipment. A game box is provided to play with the monsters and individual names can be given to the monsters.
