Colombo (News 1st) The Appellate Court has directed the Consumer Affairs Authority to fix the maximum retail price for sale of eggs by today (14).
An interim injunction was issued against the gazette notification issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority on August 19 to sell bat eggs at 43 rupees and red eggs at 45 rupees.
The order was passed when a petition filed by the Egg Producers Association challenging the said gazette notification was taken up for hearing today (14) before a bench of judges comprising Prasanna Alvis and Hema Swarnathipathy.
