Sensex down 300 points | Sensex starts with 300 points down

Mumbai: Today (Friday), the weekend in the Mumbai stock market, started off with a downtrend. The Sensex fell as much as 300 points to 61,480. Meanwhile, the Nifty fell 50 points to 18,350 in the national stock market.

As of 09:53 am, the Sensex was down 117.56 points at 61,681.47. The NSE Nifty was down 18.05 points at 18,396.85.

Indian equity markets started the weekend trading on a downtrend due to poor conditions in the global markets.

As far as individual stocks are concerned, Reliance Industries, L&T, Power Grid Corporation, Bharti Airtel, Nestlé India, Ultra Tech Cements, Axis Bank, Hindustan Unilever and Sunpharma Industries were the gainers. On the other hand stocks like Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, IndusInt Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Tech Mahindra, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Dr. Reddy’s Labs were in decline.
