New Delhi: For the 5th year in a row, Tamil Nadu has topped India Today’s list of best performing states among India’s largest states.

At the end of every year, India Today publishes a ranking list on the performance of states. The agency lists the states as large and small under the categories of economy, medicine, agriculture, education, infrastructure, law and order, tourism and environment.

In the list for 2022, Tamil Nadu is at the top with 1303.5 points. In the years 2018, 19, 20, 21, Tamil Nadu was at the top.

2nd place is Himachal Pradesh (with 1257.2 points),

3rd place Kerala (1252 points)

4th place is Gujarat (1226 points).

5th place is Punjab (1215.1 points).

Maharashtra at 6th place (1,209.2 points)

Uttarakhand at 7th position (1,173.2 points)

8th place Andhra Pradesh (1,172.9 points)

Karnataka at 9th position (1,161.1 points)

Haryana at 10th place (1,149.3 points)

Gujarat is the first state in terms of economic development. Tamil Nadu, which was at the 4th position last year, has moved up to the 2nd position this year. Tamil Nadu has moved up from 5th place to 3rd place last year in medicine and has also moved up from 7th place to 3rd place in health.

It has improved from last year’s 4th place to 3rd place in terms of best infrastructure.

First in AIADMK rule

In the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, Tamil Nadu was at the top during AIADMK rule. However, DMK refuses to mention this.
