Former Pakistan captain and batsman Azhar Ali has announced his retirement from Test matches with the Test series against England.

Azhar Al is the highest run-scorer in Tests after Pakistan players Javid Miandad, Mohammad Yousuf, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Younus Khan. Azhar Ali has scored 7097 runs in 96 innings at an average of 42.49.

Announcing his retirement, Azhar Ali said-

I consider it a great honor to play international matches for the country. Announcing his retirement from the Test match was a bit of a tough decision. But I think this is the right time for me to take a break.

I feel blessed to have played alongside some of Pakistan’s greatest players. I have also trained under legendary trainers.
