Leak in Soyuz Spacecraft.. Micro Meteorite Attack? What does space mean?

by time news

A coolant leak occurred last Wednesday night in Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft that was sent to the International Space Station. The leak occurred for almost 3 hours. As a result, the astronauts’ walk program was cancelled. However, a senior Russian space official said the leak may have been caused by a small meteorite strike.

Two Russian astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) were planning to perform a spacewalk that day. But after the leak was noticed in time, the walkout program was canceled and postponed. According to the agreement, US and Russian astronauts are conducting joint research on the International Space Station.

In this case, NASA and the Russian space agency have explained that there is no danger to the soldiers due to the leak in the Soyuz spacecraft. “The cause of the Soyuz MS-22 leak may have been a micrometeoroid hitting the spacecraft’s radiator,” said Roscosmos senior official Sergey Grigalev.

Space rocks, small meteorites, grains of sand, etc. move in random directions in space. It is said that the leakage may have occurred due to this. Two cosmonauts, Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitry Betlin, were about to make a 6-hour walk when the leak was discovered.

There are currently 7 astronauts on the International Space Station. 3 Russian astronauts, 3 American NASA astronauts and 1 Japanese astronaut are conducting the survey.
