An investigation into intentional homicide was opened after the discovery in Cahors (Lot) of the bleeding body of a man in his fifties, the prosecution said on Sunday.
This body, which bore several traces of injuries, was discovered Saturday morning at 8 a.m. in a stairwell on rue Fondue Basse, in the city center of Cahors.
Extended custody for the suspect
According to La Dépêche, only thirty minutes after the discovery, a man in his sixties living in Cahors was arrested.
This resident of Cahors, with a criminal record dating back twenty years, was subsequently placed in police custody. The prosecution did not give further details.
The police custody, launched on Saturday, was extended this Sunday. A neighborhood investigation is underway, in addition to the hearings of the suspect, to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
