Vladislav Shein, a 21-year-old Ukrainian Jewish soldier, was killed in battles with the Russians. The soldier is a member of the Jewish community of Dnipro, and he was killed during the brutal war started by the Russians last February.

The chief rabbi of Ukraine, Rabbi Moshe Reuven Assman, paid tribute to a soldier who strengthened himself spiritually and put on a tefillin in the middle of the hard battles: “Eternal memory for a hero who, from the first days of a full-scale invasion, went to protect the people of Ukraine.”

The rabbi of Ukraine, Rabbi Moshe Essman, who stayed with his flock in the capital city of Kyiv, faced the war from the first moment, including many attacks on the capital city of Kyiv. A few weeks ago, Rabbi Essman told ‘Bhaderi Haredim’ from the shelter where he was staying about the situation: “We are in the center of Kyiv, we don’t actually have a shelter, we are in a place that resembles a shelter with many people, many people who wanted to come here, there are many missile attacks here, waves of attacks, one after the other on all of Ukraine, including Kyiv.”
