The man was hit while he was at the window of his apartment in Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). A death by gunshots which “approaches a family and commercial conflict”, indicated the prosecution.
After an argument between the 34-year-old victim and his ex-partner, in the presence of the latter’s children, one of them “fetched a weapon and went to the victim’s accommodation” in the district of Saint-Eutrope, explained the public prosecutor Jean-Luc Blachon. This case “is close to a family conflict between a woman and her ex-husband, as well as a commercial one”, insisted the magistrate.
Arrived “very upset” in a car driven by “a friend who has not yet been identified”, “the young adult” came out on the sidewalk from where he opened fire, with a gun, in the direction of the window of the upstairs apartment where the victim was. The facts took place in the presence of numerous witnesses.
The shooter is “still at large” and hearings are underway, the prosecutor said.
The victim, with the profile of a petty criminal, was known in particular for the consumption of narcotics.
