A young British man is shocked to see a 400-year-old rare picture that came to light while renovating the kitchen of his house. Luke Budworth, a medical researcher at the University of Leeds, is amazed by the rare images found in his flat in northern England. Paintings believed to have been created around 1660 were found on the walls of his house in Micklegate, York.

Budworth said he was thrilled to find the paintings and wanted to preserve them for future generations. Luke Budworth, 29, decided to renovate his flat. Contractors were finding pictures under his cupboards. Some layers of Victorian-era wallpaper were also found to remain. Budworth’s investigation revealed that the paintings included scenes from the 1635 book Emblems by the poet Francis Quarles. Budworth is preparing to study film further.
