A 68-year-old man was killed this morning (Thursday) in a fire in an apartment on Haunted Street in Karmiel, after suffering severe burns on his body. The MDA team had to pronounce him dead on the spot, and evacuated a 62-year-old man who was moderately injured to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.
Emergency medicine medic at MDA Noam Levy said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw a lot of commotion and smoke coming from an apartment. We joined the fire brigade that rescued a man about 68 years old, he had no pulse and was not breathing and suffered from severe burns on his body. We performed medical tests but his injury was critical and we had to pronounce him dead. Another man who was rescued to us was fully conscious and suffering from burns on his body and smoke inhalation. We gave him medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care vehicle to the hospital when his condition is stable.”
