The incident occurred on April 6 in one of the city’s nightclubs. The 28-year-old Brest resident dropped in there to go on a grand spree. He drank himself and treated a new friend – a peer from Orsha. This case was noticed by two other visitors – 18- and 19-year-old residents of Brest. They decided that the generous countryman had a very large amount of money with him. And, having seized the moment, they persuaded the guest from Orsha to participate in the case with easy prey.
“The attackers took the generous man outside, after which the eldest of them began to choke the victim, knocked him to the ground and held him while the young people “cleaned” their pockets. In total, they stole more than 200 rubles. Subsequently, the suspects fled and divided the “jackpot” into three: two guys kept most of the money for themselves, and a native of Orsha got 20 rubles,” said Roman Zarmaev, official representative of the USC in the Brest region.
The victim almost immediately turned to the police, and the attackers were soon detained. It turned out that the 19-year-old Brest resident had previously been prosecuted for attempted theft, and his younger comrade is generally a recidivist: his “track record” includes theft, robbery and hooliganism.
The Brest inter-district department of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case against the intruders under Part 2 of Art. 207 (robbery committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. They are taken into custody. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
