Kottayam: Vigilance nabbed doctor who took bribe. Dr. Kanjirapalli General Hospital surgeon. Vigilance arrested Sujith Kumar. Sujith Kumar was demanding Rs 5000 as a bribe for the surgery of a patient from Mundakkayam.
First they paid 2000 rupees for the surgery. Then the patient underwent surgery at Kanjirapally General Hospital. After the surgery, the doctor asked the patient’s son, who was lying in the ward, for the remaining 3000 rupees. With this, the son lodged a complaint with the Vigilance.
Vigilance caught Sujith Kumar while handing over money in the examination room adjacent to the doctor’s house.
