The court of Ugra changed a softer – conditional – sentence of the city court of Surgut to a doctor who was engaged in arthroplasty. He committed nine corruption crimes over the course of two years, three of which are considered especially serious, and six – serious, as the judge explained the severity of his decision.
As RG previously wrote, the head of the orthopedic department of the clinical trauma hospital in Surgut was caught red-handed while receiving 140 thousand rubles for an extraordinary hip replacement in a patient. As investigators found out, he forced people with disabilities who came to see him to pay him for urgent operations. People agreed, not wanting to stand in line for a long time and being afraid, in case of publicity, to be left without help.
Established at least eight more cases of extortion of large sums from patients. And in October 2020, the surgeon completely deceived the patient, saying that the prosthesis that they put on him is paid.
Large sums of money were found in the doctor’s office and at home, he owns several apartments and plots. In addition to a real term in a correctional colony, the punishment includes a fine of 2,750,000 rubles.
