On Coimbatore – Palakkad main road, at Kuniyamuthar bus stop, the ADMK government spent a huge amount of money and constructed an iron footbridge. It is not used by pedestrians or public. When party meetings are held, this bridge is only used by political parties to place placards. At the same time, as the students of Kuniyamuthar Government School are having difficulty crossing the road, Deputy Mayor Vethichelvan requested that the iron footbridge at the bus stop be removed and placed in front of the school to make it useful. Also, ‘Smart City’ The project is in progress to improve the Kochi Pond. When it is declared and put to use as a recreational area, the area will be visited by many people. As the number of people using the iron footbridge is increasing, it has been decided to replace it and 35 lakhs, 60 thousand rupees have been allocated. When replacing the iron footbridge in front of the government school, stairs should be constructed so that the students can use it to get down into the school premises and the public can get down on the footpath. The people of Kuniyamuthur have demanded that ‘lift’ facility should be provided as the students would find it difficult to get on and off the bridge with their book bags.
