Bystander: A pedestrian who fell on the road after being hit by a car on Kottayam Ernakulam road died while riding a private bus. Gopi (Baby – 63) died in Kanakari Chathamala burial ground. The accident happened at 7.45 pm on Thursday. Traffic on the Kottayam – Ernakulam road was partially blocked due to the accident.
The accident happened at Kankari Shop and Padi. The baby who was crossing the road was hit by a car that ran out of control from the opposite side. A private bus going to Vaikom was boarding the body of the baby who had fallen on the road. Death occurred instantly. Baby’s brother Benny, who was running a shop near the accident site, fainted when he saw the body. He was admitted to the hospital.
The body was removed from the road after the arrival of Kumilangad police. The body was shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital. After reaching the accident site, the Kattururthi fire rescue team washed the road and cleared it. Police have started a search for the car that caused the accident. Wife: Shantamma.
