Kannur ∙ Koothuparamp Police registered a case against Girija, a teacher of Koothuparamp Higher Secondary School, who insulted the late CPM leader and former minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on social media. Later, the case was handed over to Girija’s residence Edachery police.
Santosh Ravindran, Head Clerk of Chitara Sub-Registrar Office, and Urub, former gunman of Congress leader Mullapally Ramachandran and CPO of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Police Station, who insulted Kodiyeri on Facebook, were suspended from service last day. Shastamkota police have registered a case against Santosh Ravindran.
Kodiyeri posted a post in a school’s PTA group, where Urub is a member of Pothanku, calling Balakrishnan a ‘murderer’. CPM Anakot branch secretary filed a complaint against Urub to the DGP. The CPM had also besieged the police station demanding action.
