Manchester: In the 3rd ODI against England (ENG vs IND 3rd ODI), wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant’s smashing century made the Indian victory (Team India) easy. Rishabh Pant scored 125* not out in 113 balls and was the man of the match. Rishabh’s performance of crossing the border with the bat against all the criticism raised against him. Rishabh also holds a record breaking record. That is an achievement that even the legend MS Dhoni does not have.
Rishabh Pant was the backbone of the Indian batting line-up which was shaken. While Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav all bowed before the English pace, Rishabh Gambhira, who played undeterred, completed the century. Rishabh reached his fifty off 71 balls with seven fours and needed just 35 balls to reach his century. Rishabh’s first ODI century was in the 27th ODI. With this, Rishabh also has the achievement of being the first Asian wicketkeeper to score a century in both Tests and ODIs in England.
In the 42nd over, Rishabh Pant celebrated the Indian victory by hitting all five balls of David Willey for boundaries. A brilliant innings with sixteen fours and two sixes. Rishabh Pant said after the match that he was very aware of his responsibility even when he was playing aggressively. Pant also scored a century in the fifth Test against England.
India also owns the ODI series against England when Rishabh Pant put on a spectacular performance. India won by five wickets in the crucial final match. After losing the toss and batting, England were all out for 259 in 45.5 overs. In reply, India overcame the target with the loss of just five wickets in 42.1 overs. Hardik Pandya (71 off 55 balls) provided good support to Rishabh. Earlier, Pandya took four wickets in bowling. Yuzvendra Chahal has three wickets.
