In the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a four-year-old boy died of exhaustion after his mother abused alcohol for several months and did not give him proper care. This was announced on Monday, December 20, on the website of the regional Investigative Committee.

On the fact of the death of a child, a criminal case was initiated against a 35-year-old local resident under the article on causing death by negligence (part 1 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

So, from September to December of this year, the woman abused alcohol and ignored the fact that her son needed special care due to a congenital disease of the mucous membrane of the small intestine. This led to the exhaustion of the child and the onset of his death.

Investigators are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident, and also order the necessary expert studies to establish the exact causes of death of the minor.

In addition, the UK will assess the actions of officials responsible for the prevention of crimes against minors.

Earlier, on November 22, it was reported that a woman who refused to treat her newborn daughter would be convicted in the Samara region, and she died. According to the investigation, the young mother knew that the girl could develop infectious diseases, but did not consent to her examination, did not undergo medical examinations and buy medicines. As a result, the child was brought to the hospital in critical condition and could not be saved.
