/ Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds revealed on Friday that an international coalition has promised to deliver one million drones to Ukraine within a year, as the country suffers from a shortage of ammunition and funding complications from Washington.

“The main task at the moment is to provide Ukraine with these very necessary technologies, as well as to tip the balance, especially in light of the continued lack of ammunition,” Andres Spruds was quoted as saying by Bloomberg.

Earlier, it was reported that Latvia had assembled a coalition of about 20 countries to supply Ukraine with thousands of new drones, and Riga and Kiev signed a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation to jointly implement projects in the defense and security industry.

Russia had previously sent a note to NATO countries regarding arms supplies to Ukraine, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia, stressing that NATO countries were “playing with fire” by supplying Ukraine with weapons.

Lavrov said that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.
