The collection “Song of Courage. Selected poems from Chechen poetry” has been released, Salim Babullaoglu, secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union for international literary relations and vice-president of the TURKSOY Writers’ Union, told Day.Az.
“They say that poetry is the moral history of the people. In this case, this collection will be the first opportunity for Azerbaijani readers to get acquainted with Chechen poetry and the spiritual history of the Chechen people,” noted Salim Babullaoglu
The collection is a publication of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union, prepared within the framework of cooperation between the union and the Chechen State Pedagogical University.
The collection, published by the Mujru publishing house, included works of 41 poets, one poem from each author, representing all literary generations of Chechen poetry of the 20th-21st centuries. The author of the translation into Azerbaijani and the afterword is Salim Babullaoglu. Editor – literary critic and translator, editor-in-chief of the magazine “World Literature” – Seifeddin Huseynli, publisher – Mushfik Khan, designer – Javid Kishiev, consultants – Tamara Avtaeva and Raisa Buralova, proofreader – Gulzar Vagifgyzy. In preparing the book, works by talented Chechen artists Ruslan Yakikhanov and Muhammed Zakriev were used.
The collection includes poems by famous Chechen poets – M. Isaeva, M. S. Gadaeva, M. Mamakaeva, N. Muzaeva, B. Saidova, A. Mamakaeva, M. Sulaeva, A. Suleymanova, Z. Mutalibova, H. Edilova, R. Akhmatovoy, Sh. Arsanukaeva, Ya. Khasbulatova, M. Kibieva, A. Kusaeva, S. Gatsaeva, H. Satueva, E. Mamakaeva, V. Itaeva, Sh. Rashidova, M. Dikaeva, U. Yaricheva, A. Shaikhieva, G. Aliyeva, Tauz Iss, I. Yusupova, A. Khatueva, A. Magomadova, L. Abdullaeva, Yu. Yaralieva, R. Yusupova, M. Akhmadova, H. Borkhadzhieva, S. Kh. Autaeva, U. Saieva, B. Gaitukaeva, A. Akhmatukaeva, Sh. Tsurueva, S. Magomadova, A. Tuguzova, L. Arsalievoi, I. Khayauri and A. Khalikova.
