The Azerbaijan National Museum of Arts in Baku presented a concert program dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the birth of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, Day.Az reports.
The concert program was organized by Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philosophy in art history, opera singer, soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, laureate of international competitions Ilham Nazarov.
The evening was held under the title “Students and graduates of Ilham Nazarov.” The concert program included the favorite musical works of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The program included arias, duets from operas, and songs created by Azerbaijani and foreign composers.
The concert program opened with an aria and duet from the opera “Julius Caesar in Egypt” by George Frideric Handel. The performance of these works required high technical skills from the singers, and Ilham Nazarov’s students – Nuray Ismailova (soprano), Tofig Zeynalov (countertenor), Sevinj Agayeva (contralto) demonstrated the subtleties of performing Baroque music in their interpretations.
Ismail Asadli (baritone) and Kanan Rahmanzadeh (bass-baritone), who performed arias from operas by Gaetano Donizetti and Gioachino Rossini, delighted music lovers with the beautiful timbre of their voices.
Then singers Susan Abasova and Gunel Binnetli were invited to the stage, who added color to the concert program by turning to the work of George Gershwin.
Next, Fidan Nazarli – the 6-year-old daughter of Ilham Nazarov, who is the first countertenor of Azerbaijan, performed the Azerbaijani folk song “I sprinkled su on the streets”.
Afterwards, Ramal Ibishov (baritone), Javidan Babazade (tenor), Emil Ismailov (baritone) performed works by Azerbaijani composers – Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Jahangir Jahangirov, Said Rustamov, Tofig Guliyev, Muslim Magomayev and Kamal. The public greeted these works with great warmth.
Soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater Subkhan Rustamov performed the song “Ana” (Mother) and an aria from the operetta “Arshin Mal Alan”.
Along with soloists, accompanists also play a big role in the success of a concert. Performing to the accompaniment of Svetlana Akhmedova, Ilakha Ismailova, Nargiz Eyyubova and Aidan Jafarova, the soloists received a great source of inspiration.
The concert program was received by the public with great interest, the listeners expressed their delight with thunderous applause and exclamations of “Bravo!”
