A concert dedicated to the memory of the People’s Artist of the USSR, outstanding Azerbaijani performer Rashid Behbudov (1915-1989) was held in the hall of the Opera Studio at the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Day.Az reports.
The concert program featured the orchestra and soloists of the Ganja State Philharmonic named after Fikret Amirov, People’s Artist Sarkhan Sarkhan, Honored Artist Tural Abdullayev, Honored Cultural Worker Mehpara Jafarova, as well as Abbas Ahmed, Samir Piriev, Vasif Bayramov, Rustam Jafarov, Ali Mamedov, Vagif Nagiyev and other.
Rashid Behbudov’s repertoire was very wide, the main place in it was occupied by the works of Azerbaijani composers, as well as Azerbaijani folk songs and compositions of the peoples of the world.
Legendary songs from the repertoire of Rashid Beibutov were played at the evening, including “Ganja”, “Zibeyda”, “Tulips”, “You are beautiful”, “Sevgilim”, “Dear friend”, “Spring without you”, “My Azerbaijan”, “O Motherland”. ” and others.
